CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAM (CEP)

Mission Statement of the CEP

“To educate medical representatives to a recognised industry standard in order to provide healthcare professionals with accurate, balanced information in an ethical manner that will enhance the quality use of medicines.”
Medicines Australia 's Continuing Education Program is designed to educate medical representatives to a recognised industry standard.

Medicines Australia has long been committed to the quality training of its members' medical representatives. To this end it has developed the Continuing Education Program (CEP), which in 2006 will be offered in distance learning and online modalities through CHIS, a centre of the University of Queensland 's Faculty of Health Sciences.

The CEP provides candidates with formal training to enhance their roles as medical representatives in the pharmaceutical industry.
The program is compulsory for medical representative employed by members of Medicines Australia, and recommended to those who may not be currently employed within the industry but would like to pursue a career as a medical representative.

The course replaces Medicines Australia's previous training course, the Medical Representative Education Program (medREP).
A Refresher Course for candidates that have already completed Module One of the CEP has been developed to ensure they are up-to-date with changes to the Code of Conduct.

For more information regarding the program content, please contact the Medicines Australia Secretariat on (02) 6282 6888. For enrolment details, please visit the CEP website at http://ma.healthinsitu.uq.edu.au
